Radiology Diagnostic Flow Integration Guide with RIS Agent and SATUSEHAT

Quote
Summary

This article explains the complete workflow of Diagnostic Radiology Integration (X-Ray, CT, MRI, USG) in the Ksatria eHospital, including interaction between eHospital → IHS Service → RIS Agent → DICOM Router → Modality → SATUSEHAT.

Info
Overview of Diagnostic Flow

The workflow is divided into three main stages:

  1. Order Creation – Doctor creates diagnostic order from eHospital.
  2. Order Processing – Radiographer processes and performs the examination.
  3. Order Distribution – Image result returned to eHospital

Main Radiology Workflow Diagram:

Notes
1. Order Creation

This step covers how the examination is ordered and moved to the radiology system.

Process

  1. Doctor creates X-ray request in SIMRS.
  2. eHospital (SIMRS) saves order to IHS Service.
  3. eHospital sends Service Request to SATUSEHAT using Accession Number.
  4. RIS Agent retrieves new orders every 5 minutes.
  5. Order forwarded to DICOM Router.
  6. System pauses → waiting for radiographer to access modality worklist.

Notes
2. Order Processing

Radiographer performs the imaging and sends the image to the Router.

Steps

  1. Radiographer opens the modality system.
  2. Modality retrieves worklist from the DICOM Router using:
    • AE Title
    • Modality Type
  3. Radiographer prepares the patient.
  4. Modality performs imaging and locally saves it.
  5. Image sent to DICOM Router using STORESCU with Accession Number.
  6. DICOM Router forwards the image to SATUSEHAT:
    • Creates Image Study
    • Sends 201 Response (ID SATUSEHAT & Accession Number)

Notes
3. Order Distribution

Final image and result are delivered back to SIMRS.

Steps

  1. Radiographer exports final image (PNG/JPG/JPEG).
  2. RIS Agent detects available image.
  3. RIS Agent sends image to eHospital Supporting Documents.

Info
Key Notes

  • Accession Number must follow format: {patientId}{yymmdd}{sequence}.
  • Radiology screening must be mapped in Service Config for each modality.
  • Accession Number is only generated when IHS Service is enabled.
  • Ensure reference type RAD_MACHINE is configured for the modality.
